Jerry Heying brings 45 years of profound experience in the private security and personal protection industry. His remarkable journey began in 1977 when he took the helm of the security department for a prestigious high-rise building and entertainment complex in midtown Manhattan—a vibrant nexus for international dignitaries and celebrities. During his tenure, he spent over eight years as a crucial member of a large, high-threat personal protection team for a prominent family, where he meticulously honed his skills and deepened his insights into the industry. In 1989, Mr. Heying took a bold step by founding the International Protection Group LLC (IPG) and the former International Protective Service Agency. His commitment to excellence led him to acquire the esteemed Executive Protection Institute (EPI) in 2009, where he has been a distinguished graduate and instructor since 1996. His role as a personal protection specialist (PPS) for an ultra high net worth private family with corporate jets took him to various corners of the world, both on the jet and in advance of its arrival. His extensive experience with FBOs, flight crews, and 'Jetiquette' is a testament to his global professional acumen Renowned as a leader in the field, Mr. Heying boasts an impressive array of credentials and key positions. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), a Personal Protection Specialist (PPS), and a Certified Security Trainer (CST), each certification showcasing his exceptional expertise. His leadership as a Certified Security Driving Instructor, a Certified Firearms Instructor, and a Senior Instructor at the Executive Protection Institute demonstrates his influence and capabilities. Moreover, he proudly serves as a Founding Board Member of the International Protective Security Board (IPSB) and formerly chaired the ASIS Executive Protection Community, cementing his reputation as a trailblazer in the industry.
